The flat cap was traditionally worn by men and women from the late 15th through the early 16th century. This Tudor Flat Cap is made of poly-cotton fabric. Two grommets allow for a plume or other adornment to be added on either side. This Tudor bonnet is a soft crowned, round brimmed cap, a version of which is still worn today in some educational institutions. The Elizabethan era saw the bonnet worn by both upper and lower classes, often with a linen coif, also called a biggin, underneath. This Tudor Flat Cap is perfect for Renaissance fairs, theatrical productions, and other costuming events.

Great hat. Got the blue, and it does seem a little darker than in the picture. It’s for a bard costume, but will doubtlessly come out for renfaires in the future as well!

Solid quality hat! Well made, good value, I got the black hat and it has a nice texture to the fabric.

Ordered the black one, was surprised with the quality! Sat comfortably on my head all day at the faire, tight enough to never fall off but loose enough to be comfortable.
Some things to note about this cap is that the black one does have a pattern on it, which I didn’t notice in the picture until after I got it. If you’re going for a peasant look, the brown one may be better – the embroidered pattern seems a little too fancy.
Also note that it does not come with the plume, but there are two little holes in the back you could stick a feather or even some pins in.

Very pleased with this hat! My head circumference is 23 inches (my normal hat size is 7 1/4), so I ordered a large. Since the inside band is elastic, the hat fits well. It’s comfortable and stays in place. I purchased a plume separately to add a bit of noble flair.
