My first Hanwei! I have heard good things about the various Tinker-Pearce sword models; and I really love the lines of this Tinker-Pearce Bastard Sword. It is every bit as agile and quick as I had imagined. The blade is wicked, and I chose to get the sharp bastard without the fuller, because I just love the unbroken (by fuller), naked diamond cross-section blades. I have a Cold Steel Italian longsword with a very similar blade on it, and I just loved the blade type the moment I saw it. This Tinker-Pearce Sharp Bastard Sword has a leather clad hand and a half grip/handle. Standard disc-pommel with hex-nut threaded peening (another cool feature, as the blade is replaceable). The cross guard and quillons are uniformly straight, giving this sword the classic cruciform look. It is a joy to hold in the hand; so light, so elegantly tapered from ricasso to wickedly sharp pointed tip. I am in love with the longsword in general; however, I have found that I like them lighter, thin-bladed, elegantly tapered, and very pointy. When I hold this Tinker-Pearce Bastard Sword in my hand; and then switch it out with my 14th century Crecy War Longsword, the difference is night and day! It’s like comparing a military Humvee to a Viper, or Lotus.
Very pleased with this sword; the quality, and the scabbard even! 5 stars from me on this blade.

This is an absolutely beautiful weapon. It’s not razor sharp out of the box, but sharp enough to be dangerous. It fits snugly in the scabbard, with no rattling. The hex not on the end of the tang allows for easy blade changes and maintenance. You will not be disappointed with this sword.
