The Steel Markward Greaves features a simple yet elegant design, showing off a bright metal finish and smooth curves on the sides of the top. A central bend runs down the front, adding strength and stiffness to the steel greaves. The leg armour looks great with other medieval armour, especially other Markward-style pieces. It works great for LARP events, re-enactments, the Renaissance fair, and more. We recommend wearing padded arming wear beneath these metal greaves for increased comfort. Care Instructions:
- This armour will arrive to you covered in protective oil. While this oil can be removed, it must be replaced with another protective maintenance product to protect your steel armour from rusting. Occasional oiling is necessary for the proper maintenance of this armour. When storing this armour, protect it from oxidation by coating it with machine oil. these greaves give a very real, bulky look and are some of the longest offered on this site. The finish of the metal is exactly as it looks in the picture. The price is unbeatable. And they look great with most types of armor, whether is be a chainmail and surcoat ensemble or full plate. The only issue I had was with the lower strap; my calf was was too big for the belt to wrap fully around. So if you’ve got muscular legs be prepared to rig something up.

Top notch armor for AMTGARD larp players! Definitely recommend to first buy armor wearers, do note that it will rust if not oiled and polished after being exposed to weather. But you can’t beat the price and feel of these greaves! I’d recommend some sort of hardtop boot when wearing, if they slide down on your foot they’ll get a tad uncomfortable.

Although these are a bit on the heavy side, they do provide plenty of protection for the lower legs. You will probably want to wear some padding underneath them so blows against your legs won’t cause any bruising.

I’m pretty tall so the extra length of these greaves was a welcome thing. They’re well made and look great. For the price, you really can’t go wrong.

Overall, really good for the price. Not too heavy, easy to put on and take off, look fantastic. Only drawbacks I’d say is I did need to bend them a bit so they would fit properly, even with padding underneath, and they’re also a bit tall if you have shorter legs.
