Warrior, before you head into battle for the empire, make sure that you take a blade like the Roman Gladius Sword with you. Made from 1095 high-carbon steel, this functional sword features a heat-treated, double-edged blade. It has a diamond-shaped cross-section with a pointed tip. The sword continues with a round crossguard. Brass studs ring around the wooden guard. Then, the sword has a ridged grip. There are five ridges along the wooden grip. The hilt ends with a ball pommel. It has additional studs. Finally, this sword comes with a leather sheath. The sword works well for historical reenactments.

Everything about the gladius was great except for the brass stud/spikes. One fell out upon unpacking and I didn’t realize they stuck out about 1/4 of an inch. It looked weird and I didn’t care for it and didn’t think it was practical. I ended up pulling them out since they were just glued in and will put walnut wood filler in and sand and refinish to color. The weight loss was noticeable and this is a heavy sword so it was much appreciated. The rest of the sword is top notch and it looks much better without the brass studs/spikes. I would have given it a higher rating if it wasn’t for the brass studs/spikes.
