The Gladius was the favored sword of the ancient Roman empire, and there were several types of them. The Roman Gladius Sword is made in the style of the Pompeii Gladius, so named after the city in which the first of its kind was found. This gladius is made from modern materials. Its blade is 5160 carbon steel, and its hilt is hardwood. The blade of the Roman short sword has a slightly convex bevel, and it tapers sharply at the end to a narrow point. This high-quality gladius features a full-tang construction with a half-circle guard, a wooden grip, and a round globe pommel. Two steel spacers rest between the handle and the guard and pommel. A steel plate is at the top of the guard at the base of the blade. This functional sword comes with a leather-wrapped wooden scabbard fixed with steel caps.
