The Robert Brigandine is a great option for those who prefer to wear lighter armour for historical reenactment. This armour vest is made up of thick suede straps woven together, and metal rivets secure these straps at every crossing. This results in a fearsome and highly detailed look. The sides of the vest, featuring four buckled straps, can be adjusted for the perfect fit. The front closures are also leather buckled straps, creating a cohesive look. Wear this versatile LARP armour over a gambeson and pair it with various other armour pieces to create a unique look, or match it with the Robert Greaves (MY100337) and Robert Bracers (MY100336) to complete the set.

Great piece for any outfit, x-large fits great over a gambeson and still breaths nice.

Product came in in a timely fashion. Looks as expected as well. Only down side is it’s a little heavy, the large is about 10 lbs. I ordered a large with a large gambeson and would recommend ordering a size up from the gambeson. I’m sure I’ll be fine, but I would recommend it for future buyers.

I an very happy with this purchase! It’s looks great, and it’s strong yet flexible which makes it very comfortable. There are belts on both the front and the sides, so getting a nice custom fit was no problem. It’s a BIT heavy, but only in a “hey, this is a really substantial piece!” kind of way. I wouldn’t want to run a 5K in it or anything, but I can see wearing it for the better part of a day and it not being a problem. Color-wise it was a bit darker than I expected. I ordered the Brown, and either it’s significantly darker that the picture above suggests, or MC sent me the Black one. Lol. I think it’s just really dark brown. But mine IS very dark. It’s a good look though. Highly recommend!

Robert Brigandine is well made and flexible. For bigger guys like myself i have to adjust the side straps to make it fit depending the gambeson that i am wearing .

The term ‘brigandine’ evokes armor, which this vest is definitely not. Very nice looking, has a solid feel- but if you think this is heavy, you’re probably not going to want to wear actual armor, which, when worn as a complete harness, is anywhere from 5 times to 10 times as heavy, depending on period depicted or type. But it is perfect if I don’t feel like wearing armor at my local faire- as I said, it has a great look to it. I would dissuade anyone who chose to wear it as protective gear in anything but a LARP or other role playing game that uses foam or other types of soft weapons. I think it would do well in a setting like that- get your Border Reiver on!
