Love it! I ordered one size larger than necessary so that I could insert some additional padding, and it fits wonderfully after putting in some foam. There is the typical Epic Armoury style adjustable leather thing on the inside so that it can be set to your specific head size, which when combined with the chin strap, seems to keep it pretty well in place. The string connecting the cheek plate is totally useless and uncomfortable, but leaving it off made no real difference, but that may just be the size/shape of my head, not sure. If you have a small head it may be helpful for snugging the cheek plates to your face and help stabilize the helm, but I just didn’t find a need for that. The chainmail hanging from the back helps to balance out the weight of the ocular guard and cheek plates on the front, but when I removed it so I could paint the rest of the helmet, it actually didn’t feel a whole lot different. Out of the box, this helm (like all armor) comes coated in grease, so make sure you have an old towel to put it down on when you take it out of the plastic bag. You’ll definitely want to wipe some of that off, but be aware that the helmet should be greased to avoid rusting. Another nice way to avoid that is by cleaning the grease off and then spraying on a few coats of clear enamel and… Boom: no messy grease and no rust!
