By far one of the best purchases of many on this site and I have several of the pants. They breath great in warm weather and are fairly warm in cooler climates. I bought these & was somewhat disappointed. They were more wide than I expected. I normally wear 32×34 pants so thought the medium would be the best option, but they must be for more overweight people. Also the laces at the bottom do not tighten around the legs as shown in the pictures & only come with 1 lace vs 2 per leg. However, they are comfortable & not too hot.

A little wider in the leg than I was expecting but otherwise fit great. I ordered the brown; the buttons were bright orange and already coming off even before use, but I was planning on replacing the buttons with metal anyway so it wasn’t much extra trouble. The white drawstrings were a little bright if you care about authenticity, but it was less than five minutes to replace them with a darker cord. Comfortable to wear, and while it doesn’t have belt loops the buttons and drawstring work fine to keep it up. It’s a great base garment that you can use for a lot of different outfits!

I bought these pants in 2023 in both colors for my husband to wear at ren faires. He really likes them and I do too! The fabric is durable but not stiff or hard to walk in. The stitching is really good. I did make a few modifications for style and comfort. The button colors matched (black and brown) but were a little loose so I sewed them on using button thread for sturdiness. He didn’t mind the bright white cords, but it drove me crazy (they’re like sweatpants cords) so I replaced it with some braided yarn cords and it looks much better now. Even the waist drawstring was fast and easy to replace. I also laced the ankle parts so that the lacing starts at the bottom and goes up toward the knee, instead of vice versa (which is how it was shipped). This keeps him from stepping all over the cords. I machine wash cold and tumble dry low these pants and it hasn’t been a problem at all. I always use a color catcher sheet in the wash with laundry that has new garb because the dye bleeds. If they had a lady version I would get them (yes I tried them on, but it was a no for me, they’re too baggy in the upper leg and uncomfortable.) If they had more colors I’d get them!
