Very pleased with the quality of materials and construction of these ankle boots. I own similar shoes to these that are far less robust. These are very well made, with quality leather uppers and an adequately thick sole of about 8/9 oz vegetable tanned leather. These also have nice flat hobnails going around the perimeter of the sole–very good as this adds some traction on grass and soil (like cleats to a degree).
A very good choice for period accurate shoes that are durable, and offer some traction. Bear in mind that period shoes/boots (Medieval) do not have heels, like modern shoes… so the hobnails really help keep your footing.
