I’m extremely pleased with my purchase of the helmet. The lining on the inside is thick and protective while not being overstuffed, the steel of the helmet is quite thick as well. The visor had not just one secure method to keep it closed, but two. The visor is detachable as well, which is useful. My only complaint is that the straps of the helmet are placed weirdly, being towars the back of the helmet, and not angled at all. It leads to some slight uncomfort if worn alone, but is solved by an arming cap or chainmail coif.

This helmet is nice and heavy. I appreciate that the visor can be removed.
If you add an aventail to it, and then line the aventail with padding, you won’t need to buckle the helmet at all. Bascinets like this sit relatively heavily and tightly to the head, so it shouldn’t go anywhere.
The visor is a bit short. It needs about an extra centimeter or one inch to fully cover the chin.

Comfortable and very well built. Chin strap is awkward and uncomfortable but I’m only wearing it for looks so leaving it unstrapped isn’t a big deal
