Meet the Late Medieval Great Sword, the perfect way to add a touch of Renaissance warfare to your arsenal. Knights and sellswords alike know a good two handed weapon when they see one.
Renaissance Design Meets Modern Craftsmanship
Forged from 1566 high carbon steel, this iconic zweihander is inspired by the great swords of late medieval warfare. Carbon steel is renowned for its strength and durability. Starting with the blade, it’s factory sharpened and double-edged with a fuller along the forte. The forte is the shorter, stronger side of the blade. Just beneath the forte, two parrying hooks keep your grip from slipping onto the blade and are excellent for catching enemy weapons. The ricasso, located in between the parrying hooks and the crossguard, is flattened to accommodate a modified grip for increased control over the blade. This ricasso also has two fullers.
Moving down the sword, the wide stainless steel crossguard curls toward the blade. It’s accented with two ring guards on either side. Those stainless steel ring guards have notches in the design for extra style and detail. In between the crossguard, you can see the chappe also has notches. The long, smooth grip is wrapped in black leather with two ridges at the top and middle. These ridges conform to your grip and give you an ergonomic hold. Adding a counterbalance to the handle, the fluted scent-stopper pommel is also made of stainless steel with a cap on the end.
Please note this sword comes disassembled. To put it together, simply slide the guard over the blade until it settles into place. Then, screw the pommel on until tight.
