LARP War Scythe

The LARP War Scythe takes what was once a traditional agricultural tool and turns it into a battle scythe perfect for any LARP encounter. Like agricultural scythes, this weapon features a wooden-looking haft with a simple scythe blade mounted on the end.

Historically, peasant uprisings often saw farmers converting their farming tools into improvised weapons, and this design pays homage to those creative battlefield adaptations.

Unlike a traditional military scythe, this one is perfectly safe for LARP combat! Made using pole weapons construction techniques, it features a round, flexible fiberglass core with a strong Kevlar-capped tip for added protection.

This LARP defensive weapon includes a strong latex coating applied to its rubber surface, making it tear-resistant while helping preserve the latex coat’s flexibility for long-term use. The cutting-edge has been designed for realistic aesthetics while maintaining a soft and safe feel.

As safety is a priority in LARP, this battle scythe utilizes a plastic or rubber surface that will not violate high safety standards.

To maintain the longevity of your latex-coated weapon, we recommend using Epic Armoury Maintenance Silicone to keep it in excellent condition.

This weapon is handmade, so its measurements can vary slightly from what is shown below. Also, its wood-looking handle can vary in tone from light to dark-colored wood, and we recommend using a towel lining to dry any excess moisture after cleaning.

Care Instructions:

• Latex weapons do need to be maintained to a certain degree. We offer a 100 ml LARP Protection Gel Silicone (MCI-3722) in our LARP Accessories section. We recommend you use the silicone on a regular basis. The silicone will keep the coating flexible and increases the lifetime of the weapon. It also prevents the coating from drying out, and improves resistance to wear and tear.
