It’s a bit heaver than I expected. It was described as lightweight for warm days, but it’s more like the weight of a sweatshirt. Still, it’s very nicely made and looks great.

Shirt is solid and a wonderful piece of work. Fits well and feels great. It is one for the colder seasons which is why I bought it.

It is a good shirt but it is thick and heavy. Not really something to wear in the summer. When it gets cooler that is when it should shine.

Pros: Well crafted, sturdy stitching, attractive cut and design. Built to last (at least it looks as such.) Roomy in the arms. Feels softer to wear than it looks.
Cons: Extremely heavy fabric. If you are looking for a summer shirt, this is not it. It looks and feels like the canvas you’d use for a ship’s sail. It’s almost as heavy and coarse a fabric as you’d find on a pair of Levis. Great for colder weather I suppose. Roomy in the arms but not as much so in the torso. However, I got the largest shirt I could (2x) … perhaps they should make a 3x. The opening for your head could be larger. It’s tough to pull over and get your head and neck thru. I know I’m a big man (260 lbs) but the neck hole feels much smaller than any of my other shirts. Including another Jackobite shirt I own. Another 4 inches of opening down the front would make a world of difference in pulling it over your head.
Conclusion: I’ll keep it … but it won’t be a favorite shirt. The tight neck opening is really the deal killer. But a little lighter fabric and more room for your neck would make this shirt much better. It’s well built, for what it is … but some design changes would help.

What an amazing shirt! It is made of canvas, so, yes, it is a heavy cloth for cooler days. It is cotton, though, so it breathes wonderfully. The fit is spot on, with plenty of room in the sleeves. This shirt is is a great start for so many outfits! The neck lays open comfortably, without baring an excessive amount of chest. I replaced the cotton cordage for the neck with a piece of black leather lace to add some contrast to the neckline. Great shirt, great fit, very comfortable!

I’m very pleased with this product. It is like putting on a thermal shirt.
The sleeves are roomy except the for the stitching where the sleeve meets the main part of the shirt. For me it seems a bit tight but not unbearable. And the drawstring tips are loose so I can fix them with no real issues.
But overall the shirt is very nice and roomy. I’m 6’5” 300+ pounds it fits very nicely. Perfect for the cold weather and in a very air conditioned room.(for us tiktokers)

I love this shirt. Some of the stitching is a little loose, especially around the buttons, and there were some strands of thread hanging off. I just snipped those off. The sleeves are extremely big, more than the pictures show, I think.
The material is amazing, it’s a heavy shirt made of very thick cotton canvas. Best for wearing in cooler temperatures, definitely not for a summer day, but perfect for fall or winter. The shirt is excellent for the price. I can’t wait to wear it with the rest of my outfit + cloak this winter!

I got the cream colored Jonathan Shirt last time. This time I got the brown one. I have to say….. the Jonathan shirt is still my all time favorite shirt. It is heavy weight cotton canvas which is great for the fall and winter but will be a bit uncomfortable during the summer. I can still wear it in the air conditioned house though. lol. Seriously…. if you want a true medieval looking and feeling shirt, buy one of these. These actually have buttons on the sleeve instead of the wooden toggles like other shirts. All in all, an excellent shirt.

I bought the black Jonathan shirt in a large. I’m 5’11 and 190lbs and this shirt fits perfectly with a true to size fit. The quality is beyond what I was expecting for the price! It’s a very thick shirt that feels durable and sturdy, think Duluth or Carhart quality. The buttons are very well secured to the fabric and fasten securely when in use. I use this as a base for my current outfit but having this has inspired me to begin building other outfits as well since it’s such a versatile piece.
