The unique straps of the George Armour Cloak are for more than just looks. By securing the cloak across the chest and knotting it in the front, the weight of the garment is more evenly distributed, taking pressure off the neck. Cloaks can be heavy, so taking the strain away from the neck is a healthier alternative to traditional stylings. Made of thick cotton canvas, this sturdy cape is available in many different colors and can be worn with a variety of medieval and LARP outfits, especially under plate chest armour, which can conceal the straps.
This item is handmade, therefore, it may vary slightly from what is shown above.
Key Features:
- Follows a unique crisscross strap design
- Better distributes the weight of the cape
- Great for wearing with chestplate armour
- Excellent addition to any LARP or Renaissance outfit
- Available in a variety of colors
Materials:
- Made of thick cotton canvas

Yup, looks great. Not really “functional” for anything other than looks but wow is it well priced and it is so comfortable.

More of a cape than a cloak but it’s very comfortable and it looks great.

Looks good but the green color isn’t a dark as shown in the pictures. I’ll have to dye it to match my stuff. Other than that – nice addition

Definitely more a cape than a cloak, but it’s easy enough to tell that from the images. Very nice way of wearing it, won’t catch around the neck and completely invisible under a breastplate. Overall, looks pretty snazzy if I do say so myself.

Got this as a replacement for the Aaron Canvas Cloak that was pulling at my neck last RenFest. This one definitely is much lighter, a little bit shorter (I’m 6′ and it comes to the back of my knee), and is not wide enough to cover the shoulders. It’s not visible in the picture but it ties around you similar to an apron almost. Good quality and simple design overall.

This is the perfect cape to wear with armor. I put it over my cuirass but under my gorget and it looks like it’s coming out of your armor. Also, you dont have to worry about it strangling your neck because of the way it ties around your body. I like that it’s narrower than your shoulders leaving most of your armor exposed.

Easy to put on the blue is darker than the pic. I was thinking that there should be a yellow, purple, pink in the colors.

I love this cloak so much I got a second one in red, the first one was black. It drapes perfectly in the back but leaves the shoulders exposed.

Looks great, love the attachment method, good cape swoosh. High quality material too.

For what it is, it’s perfect. I wanted a cape that would not rest on my neck at all, but would sit nicely on my shoulders and billow as I walked about. Also wanted something that was relatively light and wouldn’t make me any hotter at a ren faire in July. I can confidently say that this fulfills all those requirements at a price that’s basically nothing compared to most full costumes! A great piece to accompany any costume!

I bought it in black. Looks great and fits my 5’1 frame just fine.

I’m 5’10” and this cape comes down to mid calf which is great because my wife has a bad habit of stepping on my long capes lol. The red I got isnt as dark as the picture. There’s a slight hint of orange but that’s fine. A little dark red dye will fix that no problem. The cape itself is a little thinner around the shoulders and wider towards the legs. When walking this has a dramatic effect which is cool. Very happy with this purchase.

It looks good with my armor.
Will slide down a little throughout the day, requiring you to periodically re-tie it.

The value is terrific, it’s a good option if you want a cape that doesn’t interfere with whatever shoulder armor you may be wearing, and it lends itself to modification. However, the red is more of a burnt orange, so I had to dye it to my own satisfaction. The long strap fasteners also don’t work with my mail, so I cut them off and close it with a chain hooked into a couple of mitten clips.

A great cape. It isn’t anywhere near a cloak, but as a cape, it’s perfect to wear with armor. It fits beautifully between the pieces of my armor for a seamless look that looks fantastic. It’s well-made and a darker blue than I was expecting, but still a gorgeous color that I’m happy with.

I already owned the blue version of this, but wanted to buy the green as well for another look. Love this cape, can’t recommend it enough!
