Erik the Red, famous for founding a settlement in the tundra of Greenland, is one of the most well-known Vikings. The Erik Viking Tunic provides the style and warmth that someone like Erik, widely respected and easily chilled, requires. This loose-fitting, short cotton tunic comes in black, grey, green, brown, and sand, and it features long sleeves and an authentic medieval-style V-neck that can be held closed with a brooch so as to keep body heat contained in the winter months. I don’t know if it’s the too-high cut of the arm holes or the thickness of the material and it’s weave, but this shirt makes me sweat like crazy. I wore it last Halloween and the only saving grace is that I guess it’s ok to be a sweaty Viking. When it gets cold this year, I’ll see if it can be worn in winter without a coat. Don’t expect a comfortable shirt.
