Originating from Nepal and perhaps inspired by the Greek kopis, the kukri is a curved knife used for combat and utility tasks alike. This Layered-Steel Rosewood Kukri comes with a leather sheath and the two traditional accessory blades. Similar to a machete, the kukri excels at chopping. The Karda is a small blade used for cutting tasks too delicate for the kukri. The Chakmak is an unsharpened knife used to sharpen and burnish the kukri blade. Each blade is made from Damascus steel, which is folded and forged several times to create the rippling pattern. The kukri blade curves inward, ending with two semi-circle cut outs which are thought to direct sap or other liquid away from the handle. The guard displays a filework pattern on the steel and brass accents. The carved handle is made from rosewood and olivewood with brass spacers. The butt of the handle is curved, decorated with brass pins and a brass pommel cap. The black leather sheath is custom fit and stitched to carry all three blades, suspended from two belt loops. The Layered-Steel Rosewood Kukri makes a handsome knife for display, survival, or landscaping tasks.
