Excellent piece that can be matched to any number of vests, tunics, and varied outfits. The leather is super nice material, soft, yet extremely durable and rugged. Well worth the cost. Same leather as other Mytholon suede garments so easy to pair. And yes, the brown is a bit darker than the image but that is of no bother to me. Excellent piece.

A brilliant cape! Honestly one of the best purchases I’ve made on Medieval Collectibles, and believe me, I’ve bought a lot from them haha. This cape could be used for a variety of genres. I bought it primarily for medieval but after trying it on, I felt I could certainly use it for a Steampunk look, an 18th Century look, and maybe even a Star Wars look. Just a very flexible garment, and very soft leather yet durable feeling.
Only con it that it had a god awful smell when it arrived. I’ve hung it out to air, and the smell is just about gone. But not a big deal, I’m sure it won’t persist, just found it kind of funny haha!

I agree with the previous reviewers. The cape is an excellent example of Mytholon quality. The material is soft, supple, durable, & attractive. Plus, I like how it smells. It’s a unique piece that will give your outfit a dashing layer of protection from the cool air. The back of it hangs down a little lower than the front, which is very nice. But, you almost need a certain sized neck to wear it as it is pictured, though. If you are going to wear it so that it is directly in contact with your skin, than the sizing of this cape should work for most people. I plan to wear it with a collared shirt to protect it from the natural oils on my skin. That adds a little extra girth to my 17-inch neck. It went from 17 to 19. 5 inches, but I was still able to buckle it & get the edges of the cape & collar to meet each other in the front with no gap. It was a little tight, but it worked. Anything wider will leave a gap at the buckled closure. The points of the collar will poke at you under the chin, too. So, if you think that will bother you, be warned. Over time, you may be able to condition this area to lay down a little flatter. I ordered the Brown cape thinking it would be all I would need to go with my outfits, but I think I will have to get the Black one, too.
