Why not wield a sword that is functional and has some impressive decorative style? Take the Christus Imperat Rapier onto the battlefield. The flamboyantly formed hilt is both beautiful and functional. Its forward plates are pierced and show a lavish birds among foliage design, while the bars of the guard are slender, both defending the hand and having an upward loop to catch an opponents blade. The heavy pommel allows for a more balanced feel for fighting. The blade is etched on both sides of the ricasso with the Latin phrase, CHRISTUS IMPERAT, which means Christ Commands.

This is an absolutely beautiful rapier to look at, as well as to hold in ones hand. But for all it’s beauty, it is still a very functional design with a good weight to balance ratio. The scabbard was not forgotten either with elegant engraving on the locket and chape to match the beauty of the sword. I have used this sword in martial combat on several occasions and it has held up well to actual blade on blade contact. This is a well crafted sword that will offer an SCA or HEMA fencer plenty of service life. But where this sword really shines is its use as an accoutrement to a well crafted renaissance persona at any faire.
