The Carl Tabard definitely fits, and is make from a very sturdy cotton canvas as described. I’m 6 ft 1, size 44 chest, and I ordered a L/XL. It fits with room for a padded gambeson and mail shirt. You can probably add pauldrons and a breast plate with ease because of the side lacing and neck lacing on the back part of the tabard. Overall I am very happy with this.

I am very pleased with this purchase. Canvas looks authentic and has a rustic texture. Small/Medium fit better than expected.

This is a rugged and well made garment; it is sized correctly and was described pretty accurately.
The only thing I did not expect was the length it is a long tabard. It looks amazing, but I was expecting it to be shorter.
Overall I recommend it, it’s well crafted and I know I will get years of use from it.

so I just got my tabbard in yesterday, its really cool. My first purchase from here. Shipping was super quick too. I actually got the tabbard to use for my Sith costume and everything was expected. Big, mean looking, I like the basket weave too. I know they’re mostly used for medieval costumes but I think this certain tabbard can be used for anything really. I highly recommend this store. Like, its big but not too big but once you have boots on it shouldn’t really matter anyway

I am 6 feet 0 inches tall and 175 lbs. with an athletic build. I intended to wear the carl tabard without chainmail underneath. I ordered the L/XL based on my chest and waste measurements after consulting the chart here, but it was way too big overall and too long. I had to return it and eat the shipping costs, and then pay again to ship the S/M which fit me much better. Loosing that much money on a same item exchange is not good customer service, in my opinion. The quality of the product is great, a nice rough looking outside material, and smooth linen-like inside layer.

Like others have said the tabard is longer than one would think, but with boots on it is no issue. Very well made with good canvas cloth. Would recommend!
