Sallets were a popular style of helmet in the medieval world. The 15th Century Infantry Helmet is a great piece to wear for medieval battle. Made from 16 gauge mild steel, this helmet comes in one size. The helmet features a traditional sallet design with the flared rear. The flared design helps to protect the back of the wearers neck. Next, the helmet has a short crest down the center. In front, it features a hinged visor. The visor secures in place with a hook on the wearers right side at the bottom. Also, the visor sticks out farther forward than the rest of the helmet. This helps to create the slot for the wearer to see out of. On the inside, the helmet has an adjustable padded liner as well as a chin strap. The 15th Century Infantry Helmet makes a fantastic addition to a variety of ensembles. Wear it to your next historical reenactment.
Please note that steel thickness may vary slightly due to the handcrafted methods used in the manufacture of this item.

Even though it is mild steel, the helmet is very shiny more like stainless. Fit is nice, although the detent pin that holds the visor down is too short on the one I got. I may be able to fix it without too much trouble. Otherwise it is a nice sallet to add to your collection.

The quality of this sallet surprised me. For it’s price, I expected something less remarkable, but it came with a polished look, and it’s designay be simpler than most sallets on this site, but it is still a very beautiful helmet.
