When you want to stand out on the battlefield, make sure to create an imposing appearance with excellent plate armour like the Large Blackened Markward Spaulders. These massive steel spaulders feature a dark metal finish. Despite their size, the shoulder armour still manages to be very movable, allowing a good range of motion. Rivets add touches of detail to the metal spaulders, which go great with other medieval armour, especially our other Markward armour like the Blackened Markward Gorget (MY100055). We recommend wearing padded arming wear with this plate armour for increased comfort. This steel armour is ideal for LARP event and re-enactments. Please note that this item must be worn with a gorget.
Please be aware that this armour is handmade, and it can be thicker than listed here. As such, it is intended mainly for costuming, light reenactment, and LARP.
When purchasing armour pieces, in order for the pieces to be compatible, it is best to stay within the brand.

The Large Blackened Markward Spaulders are excellent for anyone compiling an armor set on a budget. They’re very affordable, look nice, and fit perfectly and comfortably with the Markward Gorget, and a padded collar. Despite their rather large size they aren’t particularly heavy, and allow more mobility than you would initially expect. Note that this item is sold as a pair of Spaulders despite that note missing from this item’s overview description. Be careful during initial maintenance of the steel as I already removed a few bits of the blackened finish upon removing the grease with mineral oil, nothing substantial but take care and keep that in mind. Proper care instructions of Plate Armor are generally provided with your item to avoid such issues. Follow them carefully, and always use a proper respirator, gloves, and any other necessary safety equipment when handling mineral oil, or any other hazardous chemicals.

For their price, these are spectacular spaulders. I’m a bigger guy, 22″ shoulders, 20″ neck, and it took absolutely minimal modification to get these to fit. “Minimal” being I bent the bicep plates to get a better fit, but that’s it. I’m absolutely in love, this is a sturdy and well made product, while not necessarily flashy, is ready to head out to the larp field (or in my case, battle tested in paintball) right out of the box. I r8 8/8 m8.

These spaulders were a bit of a gamble to go with the Mantikor Celtic chest piece but they ended up fitting perfectly. The only thing is the straps that connect the shoulders to the chest piece dont have the little buckle piece to lock in place, just the strap with holes and the metal part it would loop around. Easily fixed and almost not necessary given the fit with the chest piece. They are very nice quality and you feel pretty badass wearing them. Just like another review stated, be careful when first cleaning the oils off or wiping it down. I also ended up removing just the slightest bit of finish off the right shoulder but honestly it adds to the look now making it a little rugged looking. All in all, very nice quality and compatible with most chest pieces.

I originally wanted the smaller version of these, but they were sold out. These were option B and I was happily surprised. They cover more of the gaps in the markward cuirass and make you appear much more armored. Very imposing-looking.
