The "Martel-de-Fer" or War Mallet is a very special ancient weapon following the medieval mace in antiquity. Also referred to as a war hammer, it was a favored weapon of both horse and foot soldiers during the 14th and 15th centuries and in fact medieval archers were often depicted with the war mallet in drawings of the age and seemed to prefer this weapon to the sword.
